The Swift is a luxury four-bladed helicopter, built by Maibatsu in The Ballad of Gay Tony and by Buckingham since the San Andreas Flight School update, and it is due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI. One was spotted flying over Vice Beach in pre-release material.

Vice Beach Sighting

Grand Theft Auto VI pre-release material shows a Swift in flight above Vice Beach. The image was presented as an official screenshot filed under Vice City, placing the helicopter in the Vice City region.

That sighting confirms the model’s appearance in GTA VI, but the available material does not identify a variant, livery, interior, handling changes, purchase method, or manufacturer for the new game.

Agusta and Bell Influences

The Swift chiefly draws from the AgustaWestland AW109S Grand. Its broad cockpit treatment, four main-rotor blades, sliding side doors, rear strike guard, and tail-boom layout follow that helicopter closely.

Its nose shape, engine installation, exhaust arrangement, and parts of the tail also borrow from the Bell 222. The side air vents and small winglets are especially close to those on Airwolf, the modified Bell 222 used in the television series of that name.

Liberty City Return

In The Ballad of Gay Tony, the Swift used fixed landing gear based on the AW109S arrangement. It had a long cabin section, an angular forward fuselage, a large glazed cockpit, twin turboshaft engines, side-mounted exhausts, and a four-bladed tail rotor fitted to the right side. Although its cabin appeared roomy, that version could normally carry only two people.

The GTA V and GTA Online version retained the general shape but received retracting gear, functional taxi lights on the side extensions, animated sliding bay doors, and two extra passenger seats. Its cockpit windows lost their default light tint, while the enhanced edition gained a revised instrument panel using Flyer-style gauges also found in the Maverick and Police Maverick.

Liveries, Prices and Storage

GTA V and Online offered a Classic Swift and a Flying Bravo model. The Classic version used predominantly black paint with grey striping, while Flying Bravo carried fixed green-and-red branding over a largely white base. The earlier TBoGT aircraft used a white fuselage and tail boom, coloured rear and engine sections, blue pearlescence, and Yusuf Amir’s Santo Capro markings.

On Elitás Travel, the Classic cost $1,500,000 and Flying Bravo cost $1,600,000. GTA Online allowed ownership of both and delivered them through Pegasus Lifestyle Management. Once converted into a personal aircraft, the Classic could receive primary and secondary repainting, whereas Flying Bravo’s livery remained locked. In the enhanced edition, Hangar storage categorized it as a Medium aircraft.

Speed, Armament and Damage

Among GTA V and Online helicopters, the Swift was described as one of the quickest and most agile, reaching 150 knots and exceeding the Buzzard Attack Chopper’s top speed. It accelerated rapidly and reacted quickly to course corrections. Rear passengers could use assault rifles and light machine guns, while its four-seat capacity made it suited to moving players rather than attacking targets.

Its protection was poor: limited gunfire could damage the engines, and a single explosive hit could destroy it. Hard landings could heavily deform the airframe or detach the nose gear and tail. NPC pilots sometimes landed without extending the gear, causing the helicopter to strike its underside, tip over, and occasionally explode. In TBoGT, it was quicker and more responsive than the Maverick, but lacked the weapons and outright speed of the Annihilator and Buzzard.
