Can you play GTA 6 offline?
The US PlayStation store says “Offline play enabled.” It also says “1 player.” The same page says online features require an account for PlayStation and does not name those features. PlayStation Plus is not on that list. The US Xbox store sells the game and does not list Game Pass. It says some features may require an internet connection and does not name them. Grand Theft Auto VI launches Thursday, November 19, 2026 on PS5 & Xbox Series X|S.

Lines the PlayStation store actually prints
- Offline play enabled
- 1 player
- Online features require an account for PlayStation
- Download and play on the main PS5 console associated with your account (Console Sharing and Offline Play), and on other PS5 consoles when you sign in with the same account
That list is the US PlayStation store product page for the Standard Edition, read October 4, 2026. “Offline play enabled” and “1 player” are chips. A later license line says online features require an account for PlayStation. This page does not read the chip as a no-connection promise, and it does not read the license line as a connection requirement for the whole game.
The same license line says you can download and play this content on the main PS5 console associated with your account, through the “Console Sharing and Offline Play” setting, and on any other PS5 consoles when you sign in with the same account. That is the store’s license sentence. It is not a Rockstar settings menu, and it is not a promise that the campaign never checks a connection.
“1 player” is not a crossplay announcement. Remote Play is not crossplay either. That answer is the crossplay guide. Launch mode stays on is multiplayer in GTA 6. Which machines are confirmed stays on the platforms guide.
Subscriptions this page will not invent
Other guides treat the PlayStation chip as a Plus exemption, or treat the Xbox boilerplate as a story connection requirement. The US PlayStation page does not name PlayStation Plus. The US Xbox page does not name Xbox Game Pass. Neither page names the features behind the account and internet sentences.
The Xbox product page is a purchase page. Standard is listed at $79.99+ and Ultimate at $99.99+. A missing Game Pass line is not a Rockstar sentence that the game will never join the service. Store pages can gain a line later. The short Game Pass answer also lives at is GTA 6 on Game Pass.
Preorder copy on both stores names one month of GTA+. The PlayStation copy says the subscription continues until canceled. That item is not PlayStation Plus and not Xbox Game Pass. What each edition includes stays on the editions guide.
The Xbox sentence also mentions a Rockstar Games account and other conditions. It does not name a campaign check, a first-boot step, or a feature list. Install size is a different question and stays unpublished on the system requirements guide.
What these lines do not decide
Store chips do not add a platform. Confirmed machines stay PS5 & Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. Take-Two’s preorder announcement is the date and platform source. PC is still unannounced. That board is the platforms guide. Digital preload opens November 12, 2026. That answer stays on the preload guide.
