Variety, September 15, 2026, reports an Associated Press interview. The line it attributes to Root is: “Yeah, you’re gonna see me in there.” He also said fans who know his voice from King of the Hill had already worked out that he was in the marketing, and that “that secret kind of got divulged then.” Dexerto, September 14, 2026, dates the same interview to September 13 and prints a slightly different transcription (“you’re going to see me in that”). Both articles are reports of one conversation. Neither quotation names a character.
Variety’s own sentence is stronger than the quote. It says Root provides the voice of Brian Heder, then quotes Rockstar’s description of “a classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys.” That description matches the Brian Heder section on Rockstar’s Jason page. Manni L. Perez as Lucia is not a Rockstar credit. A face or voice comparison is not a published credit.
