A four-door lifeguard pickup, finished in white with orange side stripes and rescue equipment on its roof and bed, is due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI. It shows up twice in the first trailer, driving up the shoreline in the establishing shot and parked on Vice Beach hitched to a boat trailer, and its design seems to be based on the Ford Explorer Sport Trac.
Trailer locations and timing
In the first GTA VI trailer, the lifeguard light truck is visible at 0:14, travelling north along the beach during the establishing sequence. It reappears at 0:20 on Vice Beach, where it is stopped behind people on the sand.
At its second trailer appearance, the truck is connected to a towable boat trailer. Part of that trailer is submerged in the water. Both sightings place the vehicle in the Vice City region.
Real-world design basis
The truck’s styling appears to draw specifically from the second-generation Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT. This is more precise than a general Explorer Sport Trac influence: the stated reference is the XLT version of that generation.
The available GTA VI footage identifies it as a Light Truck, but does not provide a vehicle name, manufacturer, price, performance data, modifications, or appearances in earlier Grand Theft Auto games.
