GTA 5 was built around three protagonists (Michael, Franklin, and Trevor), which is part of why the question comes up for GTA 6 — but Rockstar’s marketing, from the first trailer through both official reveals, has consistently framed GTA 6 as a two-person crime-couple story, not an ensemble cast.
Supporting characters like Cal Hampton, Boobie Ike, and Raul Bautista have meaningful roles, but none are marketed as a third playable lead. Unless Rockstar changes course before launch, GTA 6 looks set to be a two-protagonist game.
