Jason and Lucia can operate independently or together. When they share a scene, control can switch immediately while the other protagonist continues under AI control.

GTA 6 keeps GTA 5-style long-distance switching but adds much tighter dual-character play: instant swaps when Jason and Lucia are together, AI support from the inactive lead, and phone-based requests to bring the other protagonist over.

Character Switching FAQ
Can you switch between Jason and Lucia in GTA 6?
Yes. Official footage shows switching both during action and across the open world. Swaps are immediate when they are together and use a longer transition when apart.
Can you call Jason or Lucia to help?
Sanctioned preview reporting says the active protagonist can call or text the other to join them. Exact limitations are not yet public.
