The Benefactor Dubsta is a boxy four-door luxury SUV from Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online that is due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI, spotted in the Port Gellhorn Pawn & Gun parking lot near the end of the first trailer. Its traditional European design closely follows the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, with headlights that appear derived from the AMG versions.
GTA VI visual updates
Later GTA VI material shows the Dubsta with a revised front end: its grille, badge and bumper take cues from the Mercedes-AMG G 65, while the basic shape and earlier lamp arrangement initially remained recognisable. Official screenshots and promotional artwork featuring Dre'Quan show further changes, including headlamps influenced by the current G-Class W463 and horizontal rear lamps rather than the vertically arranged lights used in GTA V.
The GTA VI version is also shown with additional customization, including a bullbar. It has been seen in the Port Gellhorn region.
Real-world design references
More specifically, the original Dubsta draws on the Mercedes-Benz G-Class 463. Its broad wheel-arch extensions, lower-side treatment and possibly its hood also reflect the Jeep Liberty KK, with some Jeep Commander XK influence. The front bumper has similarities to the Jeep Wrangler JK.
The earlier vehicle's narrowed rear lamps resemble reduced-height Range Rover Classic units. Its squared-off body, upright glasshouse, high-set windshield and raised hood treatment support the off-road-oriented appearance of those references.
GTA V-era specification
In GTA V and GTA Online, Benefactor classed the Dubsta as an SUV, although its body type is a light truck. It used permanent four-wheel drive, large high-profile tyres and an engine identified by a rear V12 badge, despite an engine cover resembling a V8. Its generous clearance exposed the axles and differential from a slightly elevated viewpoint.
The standard model had a body-colour primary paint channel, which also affected interior stitching. Secondary paint covered the bumper, wheel arches, lower bodysides and roof. Its chrome-finished Benefactor-style SUV rims had a concave centre and could not be directly painted, although pearlescent paint lightly affected their shade. Light smoke window tint was fitted by default.
Handling and comparable SUVs
The GTA V-era Dubsta could climb rocks and steep hills effectively, with its torque and clearance helping it avoid damage in those situations. Its heavy mass also allowed it to shove medium-weight vehicles when the throttle was used carefully, but the untuned engine struggled to move that weight quickly and acceleration was average.
Body roll was severe both on pavement and off-road, and bumps or small obstacles at speed could overturn it. Off-road wheels reduced this problem. Fitting the normal Dubsta's Spare Wheel modification provided a small traction increase, in the same manner as a spoiler. Its cabin was similar to those in the Cavalcade and Granger, including their yellow instrument dials in the enhanced edition.
Online availability and quirks
GTA Online listed the Dubsta for $7,000 at Los Santos Customs. During Junk Energy Skydives Week, Premium Deluxe Motorsport offered test drives and purchases for $70,000. Simeon Yetarian could request one through Simeon's Export Requests; Los Santos Triads also used Dubstas in the Ammu-Nation Contract and, in the Little Seoul version of Finders Keepers, to carry counterfeit cash.
Roof racks and the extra lights mounted on the front bullbar did not operate. The steering column sat slightly right of the steering wheel and revealed part of the engine-bay area, a fault shared with the Dubsta 6x6. A beta build had a different grille and taller suspension.
