A Vapid taxi is due to appear in Grand Theft Auto VI, shown parked in the distance on a Vice Beach road in the first trailer. The yellow, roof-signed full-size sedan continues the series' recurring Taxi formula, appearing to blend first- and second-generation bodies, and its design seems derived from Ford's Panther-platform sedans such as the Crown Victoria.
Panther-platform design basis
The Vapid taxi draws on Ford’s Panther platform, the foundation shared by the Ford Crown Victoria, Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln Town Car. Its exterior most closely follows a second-generation Crown Victoria used as a taxi, rather than taking its shape equally from every Panther-platform sedan.
The GTA VI vehicle’s proportions and four-door sedan layout place it within the full-size class. Vapid is identified as its in-game manufacturer.
Relationship to earlier Taxis
Its body styling combines cues associated with the first- and second-generation versions of the series’ recurring Taxi. The second-generation Crown Victoria taxi is the clearest real-world comparison for the bodywork.
