Minivan

The Minivan’s model in the September 2022 footage had more detailed roof and pillar trim, revised pull-style door handles, reshaped side skirts, and new wheels. The wheel centre caps carried Vapid branding and the visible brake calipers were red. The cabin may also have received different seating, although this is not confirmed by the footage.

Its basic shape draws chiefly from the 2001–2007 Dodge Caravan, especially around the pronounced wheel arches and the front grille’s outline. The bumper has a shallow upper dip that follows the grille contour in a similar manner.

Several details come from other vans. The horizontal grille bars resemble those of the European-market 2000–2004 Chrysler Voyager, a Caravan relative, rather than Dodge’s crosshair grille. Its lamps recall the 1995–2000 Volkswagen Sharan, while the rear-light form and the missing high-mounted brake lamp resemble the 1999–2003 Ford Windstar.

Unlike the sliding rear side doors expected on many North American minivans of that period, the Minivan uses rear-hinged doors. This arrangement is closer to a number of European and Japanese MPVs from the 1990s and 2000s.

The Vapid Minivan first appeared in Grand Theft Auto IV as a large four-door people carrier, taking over the fuller-size minivan role previously associated with the Blista in Grand Theft Auto III and Liberty City Stories. The Perennial also occupied this market segment in GTA IV.

Its GTA IV body used large bumpers, flared arches, narrow side creases, a small raised bonnet, and a black grille marked “24v.” Side skirts carried Minivan badges, while the tailgate bore Minivan Sport and 24v markings. It could have roof rails or a rear spoiler, and its five-spoke twin-spoke wheels were unique to the model. The rear passenger and cargo-area glass was permanently darkened.

GTA IV examples normally used one body colour, though the unused secondary paint channel coloured the lower body and both bumpers. A GPS voice was available when the audio settings retained the selected-cars option. The Minivan was common around Westdyke and Leftwood, as well as Hove Beach, Firefly Projects and Firefly Island in Broker, and it could also be seen in Industrial. Stevie paid $2,000 for an undamaged example after all thirty requested vehicles had been delivered.

Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online retained the GTA IV design with stronger-looking wheel arches and skirts; the skirts also curve upward around the rear arches. Door handles moved from recessed fittings to pieces mounted on the door surface. The later version added twin exhaust outlets, altered light and glass materials, and removed the fixed tint from the rear windows.

Enhanced editions received a higher-detail cabin derived from the Cavalcade interior, while retaining much of the older Minivan interior design. The dual-colour paint setup remained, and some spawn combinations used black or graphite for the lower sections. Its wheel pattern returned as well and was also used on the Stanier, Asea and FQ 2.

In GTA V and Online, it is a Vapid-built light truck in the Vans class. GTA V commonly placed it in South Los Santos and around Paleto Bay. Online examples appeared in Davis, at the Diamond Casino & Resort car park, and in certain unlocked parking spaces with their front windows lowered. It cost $30,000 through Southern San Andreas Super Autos or Benny’s Original Motor Works, where it was available only in the enhanced version, and Los Santos Customs paid $3,000 for one. A Minivan could also serve as a valet-owned getaway vehicle during the Opium Nights Hotel preparation.

The GTA IV Minivan carried 24v badging and a relatively quiet engine sound. Its braking and suspension were described as effective, but its mass slowed acceleration and its grip could be poor when starting abruptly on grass or steep ground. GTA V and Online retained the same engine model and cover, though its sound was closer to the Primo’s. Four forward gears and the vehicle’s weight limited acceleration and speed, while all-wheel drive, firm suspension and a low ride height aided stability; understeer remained apparent. ABS was standard.

Several model errors persisted. GTA IV and GTA V skirt badges misspelled the manufacturer as “Vapid Desgined.” On the original GTA V model, the MINIVAN lettering beneath the front doors was reversed; enhanced editions corrected it only on the highest-detail model. GTA V’s passenger-side mirror could detach because it was assigned to the front wing, whereas the driver-side mirror belonged to the bodyshell. The exhaust tips intersected the bumper, and lower-detail models still displayed GTA IV’s single-exhaust arrangement despite the revised twin outlets.
